about

MONTE’s 3rd featured song from their new EP ‘This Is MONTE’ is “T. D .T .T .M” which, upon hearing the first chorus of the song, means “Too Depressed To Touch Myself”. Besides the obvious, being too depressed to touch yourself, the song is about not being able to go about life without thinking of someone you were once romantic with. It can be hard to fantasize or move on in any capacity without thinking about how they looked or felt, or you might be put on medication that turns your mood way off. So in pure MONTE fashion, singer and guitarist, Caitlin Montclare takes a bad experience and makes a danceable and catchy track.

T. D. T. T. M. opens with a moaning and distorted guitar. Montclare also adds a bit of whimsy to her guitar tone by adding a phase shifter effect to give the track a back and forth sway, which really sets the groove which is exaggerated by Ismael Baiz’s cowbell. This gives the song a “thrust” Which is fitting given the content of the song.
