Brooklyn-based Punk Rock band MONTE is releasing their 3rd EP ‘This Is MONTE’ July 15, 2022. It is their first 5 song EP with current members, Caitlin Montclare (Vocals and Guitar), Meghan Rose and (Harmonies and Bass) and Ismael Baiz (Drummer). ‘This Is MONTE’ features 2 singles released by the band earlier this year, “I Hate Me More” and “Bad Girl” and will be introducing 3 new songs that pack even more of a punch. This EP is a whirlwind of emotions and energy that is pure rock roll straight from the groin. It is in fact MONTE. The band delivers 5 songs filled with lust, longing, angst, love, and love lost. Frontwoman, Montclare, wrote the EP, drawing from personal experiences with love and pain, a relatable topic to most, but while also being refreshingly honest about her sexuality, and who these songs are about. Montclare is quoted saying:
“I don’t want to be put into a box being known as a queer band, but the thing is, I am a queer artist and I write about queer things. I am a woman who loves other women, why change the genders or subjects in my songs? That would be setting times backwards”
The EP ebbs and flows from hard 2000’s and 90’s style pop punk to Heavy Rock grooves showing a wide and versatile range in their musical style, while also staying true to their signature sound and tone. This EP showcases the musicianship of this trio and how well their individual sounds and backgrounds fit together to make an exciting and unique sound. From the soaring guitar solos, catchy riffs, and 4 part harmonies to clever, whimsical, and dark lyrics, this EP hits all the right spots. This truly is MONTE.
MONTE has several dates planned leading up to and following the release of ‘This Is MONTE’. They will be one of the featured artists on radio personality, Tommy London’s $5 Rock Show at Arlene’s Grocery Jul 19th and The Ladybug Festival (Women’s Rock Festival) in Delaware July 30th
‘This Is MONTE’ was produced by platinum record producer Barb Morrison, tracked by drummer Ismael Baiz at his studio Latin Experimental Records and tracked and mixed by Grammy Award nominated Jonathan Jetter, Jeremy Kinney & Matt Graff
